Ofsted Report
image2.jpeg

I am Esme, I am an Ofsted registered Childminder, and a mum of two, based in Downham Market.

My  aim is to ensure that all the children in my care have a safe, clean, happy and fun environment so they can learn, grow and develop to the best of their ability.

I treat all children as individuals and encourage them to be confident and independent. I encourage them to try new things and I'm happy to supply materials if they suggest something new they would like to do.

Parents can feel assured that children left in my care will be stimulated, well cared for and happy. It is important to me that parents can leave their most treasured possessions knowing they are in safe hands and having a positive, enjoyable experience.

Babies and young children develop best when they are in a caring relationship with an adult. A baby will learn to walk faster when they have a safe pair of arms to walk towards and learn to talk, when they have an adult listening and responding to them.

I will strive to provide your child with an environment that will be caring, fun and stimulating. I will plan my play in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). My aim is to plan a responsive enriched curriculum which is centred around the children I care for.

To introduce new experiences to a child, I follow a yearly interest planner.  An area of interest is identified and activities are introduced around this interest to stimulate each child's:

  • Communication and language

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social, and emotional development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the world; and

  • Expressive arts and design

Children also dictate areas of interest, and these are included in the child's daily play and future planning.

The activities, toys and learning resources available to each child will be age and ability appropriate.
